Collating feedback from over 500 facilities professionals across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, the survey identified how organisations utilise FM software, the key benefits which have been established and how technology aligns with their wider business strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusions drawn from the survey include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a growing trend towards shorter contract lengths, with 49% of organisations having purchased software licences for up to 5 years, as opposed to 37% of businesses who purchased their FM application outright<\/li>\n<li>Typical implementation time for FM software is between 1 and 6 months\u00a0 (52% of respondents), with 22% of organisations opting for a phased approach<\/li>\n<li>Despite the growth in cloud technology, currently only 24% of businesses utilise a hosted \/ cloud based application for facilities management<\/li>\n<li>73% of business have improved FM efficiency using FM software<\/li>\n<li>72% of business stated that FM software allowed for better auditability and 60 % agreed it had improved health &amp; safety compliance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Expanding upon earlier research conducted by Service Works in 2014, the survey revealed that CAFM is the acronym most commonly used (55%), followed by FM Software (16%), IWMS (8%) and CMMS (8%). 41% of respondents believe the acronyms describe products with similar functionality.<\/p>\n<p>The research also highlighted a number of key trends which are driving technological innovation within the sector, including mobile technology (65%), web self-service (54%), energy monitoring (43%) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) (25%). \u00a0\u00a0It would appear, however, that the adoption of mobile apps within the FM sector is still a considerable way behind the consumer market, with only 45% of respondents currently using tablet and mobile devices as part of their wider FM strategy to manage contractors and operatives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/FM-Software-Survey-2015-scaled.webp\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2432\" src=\"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/FM-Software-Survey-2015-scaled.webp\" alt=\"FM Software Survey 2015\" width=\"1369\" height=\"4447\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Service Works Group and the Facilities Shows reveal key UK insights<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":10031,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[60,74],"class_list":["post-10030","white-paper","type-white-paper","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-fm","category-survey"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/white-paper\/10030","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/white-paper"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/white-paper"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/10031"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10030"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.swg.com\/aus\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10030"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
