2018 FM CAFM software and technology survey Service Works Group

Technology has taken hold of FM on a global scale, with developments in mobile usage, IoT, smart technology and automation fuelling its growth. Service Works Group (SWG) has partnered with leading UK FM journal, FMJ, to find out how these advances are affecting your role.

In SWG’s previous survey from 2016, budget was the biggest concern for the majority of respondents (68%), but concurrently the use of mobile and tablet devices with computer aided facilities management (CAFM) software was up almost a third on the previous year. Integrated systems and the use of BIM were also areas of growth, showing the rise of technology in furthering the profession.

Will this trend continue, and see an end to paper-based systems? And as further advances have entered the mainstream in the last 12 months, will we see further investment to increase efficiency, or will FM innovation like artificial intelligence still be deemed too risky?

Your responses will help to provide analysis and insight into the use of technology within the UK industry, so your input is vital. This will provide FMs with insight into future trends, enabling them to stay ahead of the curve and benchmark themselves against the industry as a whole.

The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete, click here to begin.

As a thank you, participants can enter a prize draw, with one lucky winner picked at random to receive £300 of shopping vouchers, and two runner up prizes of £100 each. All entrants will also receive a complimentary copy of the research upon publication.
