QFM Software Enhancements

Early this year marked the release of QFM 4.3 which included a number of enhancements to the QFM platform.  These developments provide an improved user experience and extended features for the QFM Events module to improve event escalations, the QFM Wizard to provide additional details for logged jobs and enrichments to the QFM Parts and Stock module. These include a range of new stock controls, including increased options to control the allocation and release of stocked parts based on user class and the ability to release unused parts from cancelled jobs. QFM software enhancements are driven by our internal product teams and client feedback to ensure customers can continue to improve and streamline FM service delivery on site.

Cyber Security: Under Attack

As you will no doubt be aware, risks of a cyber-attack can increase with the implementation of more technology and smart devices. A CAFM system brings many benefits, but, as with any new system implementation, organisations must ensure that strong cyber security protocols are in place. Paul McCarthy, SWG’s CTO, spoke to PFM to discuss how to protect CAFM systems from cyber threats.

Virtual Models Supporting the Workplace

The pandemic has hastened the adoption of many workplace technologies, however one facet of technology that has gone slightly under the radar is the use of virtual models. Published in CoreNet Global, our Account Director, Penny Brinsley explored how virtual models can benefit multiple workplace departments, such as the marketing sector and FMs.

The Use of Asset Registers Within Healthcare

When healthcare facilities are maintained with accurate, up-to-date asset registers, service efficiency improves, meaning hospital staff are free to dedicate as much time and resource as possible to contributing to the quality of life and wellbeing of their patients. In Healthcare Design & Management, SWG’s CEO Gary Watkins discussed how asset registers can help healthcare estates improve the management of facilities work and therefore providing a better patient care experience.

BIM and Smart Technology can Improve Building Efficiency

Paul McCarthy, CTO of Service Works Global, featured in both FMJ and PBC Today, exploring the benefits of digitalisation in the built environment. Talking to FMJ, he discusses the benefits of using BIM in digital transformation and uses two case studies to illustrate how FMs can start the digital journey.

As advised in PBC Today, when implementing smart technology it is best to smart small with one project at a time, giving the chance to assess the data at each stage. The important thing to remember when investing in infrastructure for a smart building is that it does not need to break the bank.
