Taking centre stage in this edition of our newsletter is the launch of Geminus, SWG’s new platform for the connected built environment. Designed to bring together building, asset and operational data, Geminus helps organisations make smarter, more informed decisions. Alongside this major milestone, you’ll find the latest updates from across our software portfolio, including new releases for Archibus and QFM, as well as highlights from recent events, webinars and industry initiatives.
Software updates
Geminus
“When we started shaping Geminus, the ambition was clear: simplify something that has become unnecessarily complex for our customers. Too many systems. Too much is connected data. Too little real value. Geminus is our answer to that.” Mats Broman, SWG CEO.
Geminus brings spaces, assets, documents, drawings, BIM and IoT data into one secure platform, making building information easier to find, trust and reuse. It intelligently reveals insights from any connected data source to support better decisions and create operational value across FM. An inbuilt AI agent supports technicians in delivering more informed maintenance operations.
Geminus can fully integrate with QFM along with other operational systems used across your building portfolio.

QFM
QFM version 6.2 for web and mobile app are both now live, these new releases bringing improvements to functionality, usability and security.
Users can now create permits more quickly by duplicating existing records, while new maximum duration settings help support compliance and governance. The release also introduces multi-document download functionality, making it easier to manage and access information, alongside improved stock management tools that reduce the number of steps required to update inventory records. Additional enhancements include easier access to QFM Online pages through the mobile app, proof of presence forms to verify operatives are on site, and a more streamlined, secure login experience via Keycloak.
Updates to QFM Space include a introduces a range of enhancements designed to improve efficiency, security and data accuracy. A standout addition is the new Automatic Door Locator, which streamlines the creation of door registers by automatically identifying door locations from existing floor plans and room outlines – helping organisations manage fire compartmentation and compliance more effectively. The release also includes a beta integration with Keycloak, providing an alternative approach to user management and single sign-on (SSO), along with new CAD tools for optimising AutoCAD blocks and simplifying the re-sequencing of space block numbers.
Archibus
Archibus 2026.01 released this week introduces a range of innovations designed to help organisations gain greater value from their facilities data and support more informed decision-making. New Data Lake Integration capabilities enable facilities data to be combined with wider enterprise systems for unified analytics and reporting, while enhanced organisational hierarchy support improves space allocation, reporting and portfolio planning across complex business structures. The release also introduces neighbourhood planning tools for managing hybrid workplaces, alongside a preview of the Archibus Assistant for Data Analysis, which allows users to ask questions in natural language and receive insights from facilities and asset data. Additional enhancements include offline condition assessments, mobile asset registration and a broad range of usability, performance and stability improvements across the Archibus platform.
An important note for our clients on Archibus version 2025.01 or earlier: Apache Software Foundation will no longer be supporting Tomcat 9 as of 31st March 2027. This is the application server that hosts and runs Archibus. After this date, there will be no further releases, bug fixes or security patches so we advise clients to upgrade their system to version 2025.02 or later to maintain security and stability.

How to avoid silos
Join us at FM Connect, FMA’s (Facility Management Association of Australia) premier national conference and exhibition for facilities managers. We’ll be running a masterclass on Wednesday 5th August from 10.20am – 11.35am on integrating proptech solutions and achieving ROI. Our global product solutions manager Pål Janson, account manager and FMA event veteran Roshan Jhoomuck, and senior project manager Lionel Waugh will lead an interactive session on how to transform fragmented data into a reliable, actionable asset – and what that means for performance, efficiency, and ROI. Register now and find out more: https://www.fmconnect.com.au/website/94419/
We’ll also be at other industry events in other regions later this year; you can catch your local SWG team at:
Facilities & Estates Management Live, London, UK: 20-21 October
CCPPP Annual Conference, Toronto, Canada: 9-10 November
UHEI, Birmingham, UK: 24-25 November
Canada User Group
The annual User Group for our clients in Canada and North America was held in Toronto in May. CEO Mats Broman kicked off proceedings with an introduction to Geminus and explaining his vision behind the platform and was met with real enthusiasm around the future of smarter FM and PPP technology.
From networking, interactive breakout sessions and the Support Bar to live polls and the end-of-day quiz, it was great to see so much participation from our user community. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

UK User Group
Last month’s heatwave in the UK saw the record for the hottest day in June broken three times in a row, leaving us to having to make the difficult but necessary decision to postpone our Customer Engagement Day which was scheduled for 25th June. The event will now take place on 10th September instead, held in London. Invitations and more information will be shared shortly, or please speak to your account manager for more details about the day. Thanks to all registered clients for your understanding regarding the short notice cancellation and looking forward to hopefully seeing you in September.
Improving sustainability and reaching for Net Zero
We were honoured to take to the stage at UK’s Digital Construction Week in June with our client Dr Philippe LeMarchard from TU Dublin. Philippe and our UK general manager Nigel Robinson explained how the university is using Geminus alongside our CAFM software, QFM, to improve energy performance up to 20% while keeping building user comfort at the heart of their operations, through integrating BIM models, BMS data, IoT sensors and operational systems. You can access the presentation and accompanying resources here.
More BIM, less effort: a smarter way to get started
Robinson presented with Aleksandar Balicevic from our partner Bimify, about the value of BIM for the building lifecycle, what you can do with a BIM model and how easy it now is to get started. Our new AI-powered Plan to BIM service means those who have up-to-date floor plans can use these to create a model in a fraction of the time compared to laser scanning. Revisit the webinar to find out how and see some of the models we have created.
Beyond CAFM: building a smarter, data-driven NHS estate
We spoke to HEFMA Pulse about how NHS trusts are looking to move towards digital maturity and the role of connected data in supporting more efficient, resilient healthcare estates. Nigel Robinson explains why CAFM systems alone are no longer enough, highlighting the need to bring together estate, asset and operational data to create a single source of truth. He also examines the challenges facing NHS organisations on their digital transformation journey and how a more connected approach can support better decision-making, compliance and long-term estate planning.
How Geminus is helping FMs unlock more value from building data
Our International MD, Samantha Fuller was featured in FM magazine to talk about the launch of Geminus. She discussed how the platform works but also cited examples how FMs can use it: “FM teams often waste significant time, money and resources servicing assets that don’t need it through calendar-based planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.” Read her full response about moving to predictive maintenance and how Geminus’ conversational AI agent is helping technicians, in the full article.
Why more data isn’t solving FM’s biggest challenge
CEO Mats Broman spoke to UK journal i-FM about how FM teams don’t have a data problem – they have an insight problem. With information spread across CAFM, BIM, IoT sensors, BMS platforms, spreadsheets and paper records, finding the right answer quickly can be a challenge. The result? Data silos, duplicated effort, slower decision-making and missed opportunities. Read Mats’ article on the challenges of fragmented data here.
