SWG Newsletter March 2025

We’ve had a strong start to 2025, being recognised for excellence in asset and maintenance management functionality within our CAFM software, QFM. And, from hosting executive trainees from our parent company in our London office to hosting QFM users at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, we’ve strengthened our global teams and collaborations and shared valuable insights. Read on to see what else we’ve been working on for the FM and PPP markets.

Software Updates

SWG commended for asset and maintenance management excellence

Service Works Global has been recognised for the second consecutive year for its excellence in asset and maintenance management by Verdantix’s Green Quadrant for IWMS report. The report evaluated 12 leading vendors based on technical, functional, and marketing criteria, and QFM scored the highest for asset and maintenance management capabilities.

The report also highlighted SWG’s success in supporting the healthcare sector, where solutions such as QFM have helped to streamline processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.

One global team

This quarter saw SWG host our company kick-offs in each global region. These internal events are a great opportunity for staff to gather together and hear from different sectors of the business regarding the company’s strategy. Each event included interactive workshops, team building and cementing priorities for the year ahead.

Addnode Executive Trainees visit the UK

The UK office hosted this year’s intake of Executive Trainees from our parent company Addnode Group. Following visits to our sister companies Technia and Symetri, the group spent the day with SWG’s UK leadership team learning more about Sales and Marketing in a global context, and engaged in workshops. The day was completed with a presentation from our client, Edward Payne of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, who shared his perspective of using QFM and QFM Space in a healthcare setting and Kettering’s plans to use QFM BIMi and Senslinc.

QFM users gather at the MCG

This year’s Australian QFM User Group was hosted at our longtime client Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). We invited our clients to share insights, discuss industry challenges and explore what’s next for SWG. It was great opportunity to network, exchange ideas, strengthen our partnerships, and enjoy some fun and laughter. Thanks to all that came along and we look forward to the next one.

The future of FM with the FMA

We exhibited at the Facility Management Association of Australia’s Future of FM Technology Summit in Sydney, which explored the latest tech shaping facility management today and what’s on the horizon. Our team enjoyed spending time connecting with industry professionals, discussing the latest trends, and showcasing how our software can help FM and PPP contracts meet their challenges.

The essential role of green spaces in healthcare

Studies show that views of nature reduce stress and promote faster healing, while staff benefit from a more positive work environment. Featured in FM Director, UK General Manager Nigel Robinson highlights the importance of green spaces in healthcare estates and explains how by using smart management tools, healthcare facilities can maintain these spaces efficiently and sustainably.

FM priorities for 2025

With facilities managers striving to meet net zero, adopt new technologies and wrestle with the challenges of managing hybrid workplaces, FMJ’s January FM clinic posed the question of what would be a priority in 2025’s to a group of experts. Paul McCarthy, our CTO, discussed the ability to create smarter, more sustainable workplaces through integrating AI and IoT. He notes that contrary to popular belief, scalable AI and IoT solutions are increasingly accessible, even for organisations with limited budgets.

The future of P3s

Public-private partnerships (P3) have the potential for emerging and evolving technologies to transform the approach to and delivery of the model, especially for facility managers who are responsible for the operational phase of key infrastructure projects. Canadian General Manager, Kelly Widger, explains to IFMA FMJ Magazine the benefits technology such as AI and IoT can bring to operational P3s.
