The level of detail (LoD) of a BIM model. The level required is dependant on the planned use of the model. Creating a 3D model from drawings will result in a lower LoD, but this can be enhanced by laser scanning, photography or visualization. Laser scanning produces more accurate results, and offers more choice as to the required LoD.
