Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is the reason for the change?
In January 2020, Excitech was acquired by Addnode Group, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of software and services for design, construction and product data information with 1,700 employees in 19 countries. Excitech has subsequently been looking at how to leverage the wider capabilities of the 40+ sister companies within the Addnode Group to deliver enhanced solutions and services to our customers. Excitech’s CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) team share skills, capabilities, and technology with another Addnode company, Services Works Global (SWG). Excitech has worked closely with SWG since 2011 so there is already a strong partnership. The combination of these 2 businesses will provide customers with an even stronger facilities and property management technology offering. As such, Excitech’s CAFM business unit will transfer to SWG on 1st July 2020.

Service Works Global (SWG) is a leading international provider of facilities, property, and workplace management software with offices in the UK, Sweden, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East providing products and services across the entire building lifecycle. SWG has already successfully integrated Symetri FM, another Addnode FM business unit, into the SWG Group adding significant expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digitisation services.

The integration of Excitech’s CAFM business will further strengthen SWG’s offering for customers with an expanded range of skills and technologies. With a global network of offices to support continued business expansion and a product portfolio covering FM, real estate, space, BIM and project management, SWG can provide a comprehensive solution across the entire building lifecycle; from construction through to operational management, supported by a strong service offering.

Q2. What changes to the current service and support can I expect?
It will be business as usual. Current projects in progress with the Excitech CAFM team will not be impacted.

Almost all of the Excitech CAFM team will transfer across to SWG so customers will continue to receive the service and support they need, backed up with additional SWG resources. The transfer of Excitech’s CAFM business with SWG adds up to 60+ years of best-practise CAFM experience with a global client base spanning all market verticals. Clients can expect an even stronger, broader product and service offering, with extended technology capability in an evolving facilities management market.

Q3. How will our existing contracts be managed?
All CAFM products (Excitech FM, Archibus, Fast Track, Premium Support & Services) purchased from Excitech will be delivered and supported by SWG. Other Excitech products will continue to be managed and provided by Excitech.

Q4. What will happen to our existing PSS balance?
This will be transferred to SWG, managed in the same way as it would have been by Excitech.

Q5. Who will be my primary contact at SWG?
With almost all of the Excitech CAFM team transferring to SWG on July 1st 2020, there will be plenty of familiar faces in addition to some experienced SWG CAFM professionals. Your account manager will be in touch with you shortly.
